- 1888 - Thomas Green Clemson dies. His will established Clemson Agricultural College of South Carolina.
- 1899 - Baseball coach and assistant football coach and instructor in forge and foundry, R.T.V. Bowman dies. Bowman Field is named for him.
- 1926: Old Mechanical Hall, which has housed Engineering since the college's earliest days, burns. Plans are made for the construction of Riggs Hall.
- 1970 - The R.L. Bryan Company in Columbia refuses to print The Chronicle's Spring 1970 issue, Vol. X, No. 11, over objections to an "obscene" passage in the text.
- 1973 - Nancy Jacobs Qualls named as first female editor of The Tiger.
- 1973 - First annual Bengal Ball is held by the Union at Y Beach.
- 1974 - Nancy Jacobs Qualls reelected to a second term as editor.
- 1978 - Seventeen Democratic candidates seeking statewide office converge on the Clemson campus, sponsored by the Clemson Young Democrats, and speak to a crowd of about 250 students on the Union Plaza. Senate candidate Charles "Pug" Ravenel, and gubernatorial candidates Richard "Dick" Riley and Tom Turnipseed lead off stump speeches.
- 1978 - Three bartenders at the Bookstore are arrested for selling alcoholic beverages to minors while police officers accompanied by an Alcoholic Beverage Control officer are present.
- Early April, 1979: A team of investigators from the Office of Civil Rights, Department of Health, Education and Welfare, visit the campus to review compliance with Title XI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
- 1992 - First issue of The Clemson Spectator, which later becomes The Tiger Town Observer, is published.
- 2000 - The Hendrix Center is completed.
- 2001 - Former Football Coach Charlie Pell honored at halftime at the Orange and White game for his part in putting Clemson back on a winning track.
- 2006: Tiger Tails changes ownership and reopens as Static exotic nightclub for men and women. Kay Wall replaces Joseph Boykin as Dean of Libraries.
- 2007: Big Dave's BBQ opens at 1060 Tiger Boulevard, Clemson.
- 2008: Food Lion opens new store at 107 Canoy Lane, Clemson. Tiger Card accepted.
