1978: Mid-year graduation.
1985: In the Tiger's first bowl appearance since the end of probation, they meet the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the Independence Bowl in Shreveport, Louisiana., but lose, 17-21, for a season record of 6-6, 4-3 in conference for third place in the ACC.
2005 - Owner of Death Valley Exxon, located on the northwest corner of Tiger Boulevard and College Avenue since 1980, announces that he will close the business to merge with Oconee Auto Service in Seneca. Site will be redeveloped into a Sonic Drive-In in early 2006. Newly merged service center will have more expertise than two smaller garages, and will operate in the former Sears-Roebuck catalogue store at 302 West North First Street in Seneca.
2006: Graduation held.
