The Horseshoe is the a housing area comprised of the High Rises (Manning, Byrnes, and Lever) and the Low Rises (Barnett, Mauldin, and Smith). It gets its name due to the layout of the buildings and the roadway forming the shape of a horseshoe. The entrance to the Horseshoe was changed sometime in the 1970's, with the entrance changing from the current location of Vickery Hall to an entrance off of Cherry Road, directly behind the President's House.

Until the completion of the Greek Quad renovation in 2004, this was the location of all official on-campus sorority housing.
