  • 1909: The Tigers defeat Gordon Institute for third year in a row in game played on Bowman Field, 26-0. Clemson owns series, 3-0.
  • 1915: First regular drill under arms, 12:10 p.m.-1:05 p.m. Preaching at Methodist Church at 4:30 p.m. and in Chapel at 7:30 p.m. (The Tiger, "Weekly Calendar'", Tuesday 28 September 1915, Volume XI, Number 2, page 2.)
  • 1918: Clemson opens football season on Riggs Field against Camp Sevier, blanking them, 65-0. Camp Sevier was a U.S. Army training cantonment located between Taylors and Greenville on old U.S. 29, Wade Hampton Boulevard. At the time of this game, the Army's 20th Division was training there so it can be presumed that members of that unit participated in the match. (Aheron, Piper Peters, "Images of America: Greenville", Arcadia Publishing, Charleston, South Carolina, 1999, reissued 2003, Library of Congress card number 2003107138, ISBN 0-7385-1550-7, page 85.) The opponent for this game was originally slated as Presbyterian College, but the Blue Stockings revoke their schedule. (The Tiger, "Tigers Draw Their First Blood", October 2, 1918, Volume XIV, Number 1, page 1.)
  • 1919: Clemson crushes Erskine, 53-0, in season opener on Riggs Field. "That bunch sailed in from Due West on the 27th of September, and along with them came a scrappy looking chap answering to the name of Philips. In fact, the whole bunch put up a scrappy game and fought the Tigers hard, but, at the end of the fray the Tigers were leading with 53 points while Erskine failed to score against the Tigers. Both Harris and Banks played a great game for the Tigers, an' the only reason they did not score more points for the Purple and Gold was the fact Coach Donahue decided to give the scrubs a chance." (TAPS 1920, Volume XIII, page 166.)
  • 1930: The Tigers blank the Wofford Terriers, 32-0, on Riggs Field. YMCA auditorium shows picture "Vengeance" or another TBA.

Ironically, in seventeen meetings between 1953 and 1977, this is the only time that the Yellowjackets presume to take the roadtrip to Clemson. And they come away LOSERS! HA!!
