I've had to deal with Family View for almost an entire year (I took a semester off to co-op, while my roommate stayed). It has been easily the worst service provider I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Every month I write my check to them with increasing hatred and contempt. Were the costs of switching to DSL not so exhorbitantly high, were the price difference not so extreme, and were I not so lazy, I would have dumped Family View like a tub of oil in the woods probably two months into it. There's something about paying for a 1Mbit connection and waiting 45 fucking minutes for a page to load, or scanning a list of CS servers to find the lowest ping is over 1000 ms that infuriates me. Have you ever had to call in an order to Amazon because you couldn't get the online ordering to go through? Or take something to the Financial Aid office because their form wouldn't load? These are experiences I've had so often that I could probably relate them dramatically and win a Pulitzer. If you care about the quality of your internet or cable service in any respect, stay FAR AWAY from Family View. 3 June 2005
