Tony Penna

Tony Penna is the Professor of Lighting Design within the Department of Performing Arts. He teaches courses on Stage Lighting and Stage Management. He received his undergraduate degree from Hanover College, and received an MFA in Lighting Design from Boston University in 2000. Prior to receiving his MFA, he worked as an Intern and subsequenty an electrician at the Actor's Theatre of Louisville, a major regional theatre located in Louisville, Kentucky. He returned to Actor's Theatre after graduating from Boston University to serve as the Resident Lighting Designer, where he remained until Spring 2004. He joined Clemson's faculty that Summer. Professor Penna has continued to remain active professionally, and has taken several students with him to assist on productions at Actor's Theatre since joining Clemson's faculty. He was also able to secure scholarship monies for several students to attend the Broadway Lighting Master Class in New York City in the Summer of 2005.
