Arthur Buist Bryan
Arthur Buist Bryan, born at Barnwell, South Carolina, June 7, 1875, died May 15, 1959, was a member of the second graduating class from Clemson, entering school in February 1894. Founding editor of the Clemson College Chronicle in October 1897. Special work at Clemson (1898); served as Principal, Ellenton High School, (1898-1899); graduated at the University of Nashville, 1901, with degree in Bachelor of Letters. Editor, Peabody Record, 1900-1901. Returned to Clemson by 1903, and remained as a lifetime professor of English and editor of publications there. As a teacher, known as "Bald Head Bryan." Father of Wright Bryan (Clemson graduate and leading journalist who wrote a 1979 history of Clemson).
