  • 1976 - The Buzzard is published. Front page headline: "Tate's Final Mistakes" about disgraced basketball coach Tates Locke. Excellent illustrations by Tiger artist Matt Crawford parody images described in Woodward & Bernstein's account of the downfall of President Richard Nixon over the Watergate scandal, with Nixon's praying with Secretary of State Henry Kissinger incident rendered as Tates Locke praying with Athletic Director Bill McClellan.
  • 1978 - Sixth annual Bengal Ball held at the Y Beach beginning at 1 p.m., tickets are $3, limited to 4,000. Music by Overland Express with the Zassoff Boys.
  • 1978 - Band Your Mama appears in Edgar's at 8:30 p.m., fifty cent admission.
  • 1978 - The Union Outdoor Rec Committee sponsors overnight canoe trip on Lake Jocassee.
