- January: All business tenants of College Place, once the Winn-Dixie, on College Avenue, vacate the premises ahead of an apartment building project.
- January: The long-empty location of Tigertown Tire on Clemson Avenue is razed.
- February 3: Construction equipment arrives on the property of the soon-to-razed College Place on College Avenue.
- February 6: Heavy rains throughout the Upstate cause localized flooding.
- February 7: Razing of the former Winn-Dixie building at College Place occurs.
- February 7: The Clemson softball team wins the first game in program history with a 6-2 victory over St. John’s in the UCF Black & Gold Tournament in Orlando, Florida.
- February 8: A three hour snowstorm coats the Clemson / Seneca area in the afternoon. Temperatures rise to the 50s the following day and it all melts off.
- September 19: Clemson hosts the Akron Zips in Memorial Stadium.
- November 7: Clemson travels to South Bend to take on Notre Dame. To be aired by NBC.
- November 14: Clemson hosts The Citadel Bulldogs in Memorial Stadium.
- November 28: Clemson hosts the South Carolina Gamecocks in Death Valley.
