  • 1978 - Sponsored by the Clemson Area Jaycees, the Hoxie Brothers Great American Circus makes its first appearance in Clemson, one of its two units touring the country. Performances at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. in the Old Dairy Barn on Perimeter Road, with $3 admission for adults, $2 for children; advance tickets available at Payless Drugs, Clemson Drugs, Lynch's Drugs, Thriftway Grocery in Pendleton or through any Jaycee. Funds raised go to the Jaycees' support of Camp Hope as well as their current attempt to create a civic park in the area between the Astro 3 theatre and the South Carolina National Bank.
