  • 1969: Football Coach Frank Howard steps down after thirty years as head coach, but remains on the University payroll as the athletic director.
  • 1978: It is announced that Danny Ford, not Charlie Pell, will coach the upcoming Gator Bowl game with the Ohio State University Buckeyes.
  • 2006: The annnual CU Trottin' Round the Tree horse show at the Garrison Livestock Arena, free admission. For information, call 864-646-3554. Womens Basketball hosts Kennesaw State in Littlejohn at 3 p.m. The Lady Tigers win, 71-62. The Nutcracker presented by the Foothills Conservatory for the Performing Arts in the Brooks Center. Performance held at 3 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $12.
