Wikipedia's article on Hardee's.

The Hardee's restaurant on Walter Cox Boulevard opened in 1975 as a franchise by Spartan Food Systems, based in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The Hardee's system main office was located in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. When the land along the campus perimeter became more valuable than the businesses located on it, Hardee's, like the University Mini-Mall across the street, closed in Fall 2004. It has been redeveloped into condominiums. The building was razed February 7, 2005.

In the late 1970s, Hardee's distributed free iced-tea cards to the athletic, intramural, and band members.

A new location was built on Highway 93 at Old Central Road near Central in the 1980s or '90s and is still in operation.
