The Larry Abernathy Park, named for Clemson's mayor (as well as adjunct professor!), is a recently constructed waterfront park hidden behind the shops at the junction of College Avenue and US 123. The park has almost nine acres of land, a half mile of lakefront, and an extensive boardwalk. The boardwalk includes three bench swings and several floating docks.
It's a far enough walk from campus that few students make the trek, but you're still likely to find a few lying around in bathing suits on a sunny day. A staircase leads down to the park from behind Pixie & Bill's as well as Wendy's.
