Following the home field success of the 1974 Red Parker-led Clemson football team, undefeated in all six games played in Death Valley, the Terry Bottling Company of Anderson offered limited edition commemorative bottles of Pepsi-Cola with season details embossed on the glass. Placed on the market on January 27, 1975, they were available only in Anderson, Oconee and Pickens Counties.

Details

The smooth-sided bottle had the Pepsi ball logo on a rectangular field in white, red and blue on one side, and a block, not cursive, Pepsi-Cola ball logo on rectangular field, also white, red and blue, on the reverse side of the straight tapering neck with "12 FL. OZ" on both sides in white.

The Pepsi side of the bottle reads:

(cursive) "Salutes (over) {[right-facing orange with white tiger paw helmet] (above) blue CLEMSON [Tiger Paw 'O'] (all on white field)} (over) UNDEFEATED HOME SEASON (over) 1974" (all in white block letters on glass). A white-block lettered and bordered home outcome on a blue field is reproduced below:
CLEMSON 21 GEORGIA TECH 17
CLEMSON 28 GEORGIA 24
CLEMSON 17 DUKE 13
CLEMSON 54 N. CAROLINA 32
CLEMSON 28 VIRGINIA 9
CLEMSON 39 S. CAROLINA 21

The Pepsi-Cola side of the bottle reads:

(cursive) "Commemorative Bottle (over) [orange tiger paw on white field with the correct one o'clock tilt] (all below text in white capital block letters) UNDEFEATED HOME SEASON (break) FRANK HOWARD FIELD (break) 1974 (break) DEATH VALLEY (break) RED PARKER (break) ACC COACH OF THE YEAR (break) BENNIE CUNNINGHAM (break) ALL-AMERICA (break) WILLIE ANDERSON - KEN PEEPLES (break) BENNIE CUNNINGHAM - JIM NESS (break) ALL-ATLANTIC COAST CONFERENCE (break) PEPSI-COLA - ANDERSON, S.C."

The bottle is coded on the bottom: 40 1339. The bottle cap has the red and blue ball logo with the white field omitted against the metallic cap with a block PEPSI in blue. An almost microscopic list of active ingredients is printed on the red field above the PEPSI name, with a tiny Palmetto seal produced on the lower blue field.

At the time of the writing of this article (February 2009), one such bottle was up for bid on E-Bay, with the bidding at $17.95.

In March 2011, one unopened bottle was up for bid on E-bay with an asking price of $50 (or make offer), while another vendor offered two unopened bottles at $5.99 each (or make offer.)
