Shadow of the Valley was a sports bar on Walter T. Cox Boulevard, across from the intramural field, which replaced Explorer's at the same location in the summer of 2007. The property changed hands and the new owners remodelled the kitchen, expanded the menu, and changed out some of the staff.

The restaurant featured lunch specials from noon to 2 p.m., cheesy quesadilla on Mondays, Chicken Tender Baskets on Tuesday, a basket of 8 wings on Wednesday, a quarter pound burger on Thursday, and Foot long dogs on Friday, as well as other specials, dine-in only. The lunch specials ran $3.99 and include fries and iced tea.

The bar offered $1 Busch Lights, "all day, every day!!"

The new operation never develops sufficient trade to sustain it, and closes after the 2007 football season. The property is being advertised in June 2008. In the fall of 2008, it had been occupied by the Fiesta Mexican Grill.
