Stephen Hedetniemi

Stephen T Hedetniemi is a professor in the Department of Computer Science at Clemson University. He is widely recognized for his contributions to graph theory and graph algorithms.

Dr. Hedetniemi received his undergraduate degree in Mathematics, master's and doctoral degrees in Communication Sciences, all from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. He came to Clemson in 1982, after working at the universities of Oregon, Virginia, Victoria and Iowa at various times. He served as the department's chair in the past. Dr. Hedetniemi's wife, Dr. Sandra Hedetniemi, is also a professor in the computer science department at Clemson.

Dr. Hedetniemi teaches CpSc 859 (Automata Theory and Languages) every semester and (undergrad) Systems Analysis every Spring.
