Subway is a popular student and professor sandwich shop, owing in large part to it's great location and long hours. It's the first building on the left when you're going downtown from campus, just barely across Highway 93, and definitely within walking distance from Holmes, McCabe, Johnstone, the Shoeboxes, and other west-campus buildings, like Tillman Hall and Holtzendorff. It's basically directly next to Mell Hall and Bowman Field. They have a couple of outdoor tables in a small little courtyard where you can watch people go by on nice days. Subway is generally open late, certainly until after midnight on weekends.

For many years this location was the site of Sloan's Store where cadets could rent formal wear. It closed after Mr. Sloan's death in the late 1970s. Subway had occupied it by the winter of 1987.

A second Clemson location is under construction in October 2010 at the former location of the Gulf Oil service station, later a dry cleaners, adjacent to the derelict Holiday Inn of Clemson on Tiger Boulevard.
