Tracy Perry

Tracy Perry (May 11, 1957 - April 9, 1980) was a four year football letterman from Roxboro, NC. He was a linebacker and running back at Person Senior High in Roxboro, and was conference Back of the Year there. He had an injury-riddled career with the Tigers. In his freshman year, he moved from the JV team to the varsity for the last four games of the season and rushed for 296 yards in those four games, including 84 yards on 12 carries against FSU and 98 yards on 16 carries in the 28-9 win over South Carolina. In 1977, Perry was instrumental in the Tigers' battle to tie UNC 13-all in Chapel Hill. Perry died in a motorcycle/tractor trailer accident near Sumter, South Carolina.
