Young Hall is one of the five "Shoeboxes", dormitories constructed on West Campus in the 1960s. Young Hall was completed in 1962. It is named for T. B. Young, Life Trustee, 1932-1960.
Located adjacent to Sirrine Hall, Young Hall is one of the First Year Experience(FYE) Dorms, and houses all females. The second level of Young (main level) houses the control desk for the area, which stores spare room keys for all the Shoeboxes.
