William Perry
From ClemsonWiki
William "Refrigerator" Perry (born December 16, 1962 in Aiken, South Carolina) attended Clemson from 1981-1985. His nickname is a result of his considerable size—standing 6 ft 2 in tall and weighing as much as 370 lb. His stature quickly brought to mind notions of a walking refrigerator. In the 1985 NFL draft, Perry was selected by the Chicago Bears in the 1st round.
Perry played for the Chicago Bears from 1985-1993 and for the Philidelphia Eagles from 1993-1994 before retiring.
He was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome in June 2008 and relies on use of a wheelchair as he battles the disorder in which the body's immune system attacks the peripheral nervous system.
