Explorer's was a restaurant located across from the lower Fike Fields on Highway 93. Though they had a rather large menu, they were somewhat famous for their wings. Wednesday nights wings were $.35 apiece. While it was usually easy to find a table on those nights, patrons could expect a long wait between ordering the wings and actually receiving them. Explorer's was a popular hangout on game-days and most weekends. Occasionally, they had a band playing outside. Friday nights they held a trivia contest. They also covered the tables with large pieces of paper and give each table some crayons to "decorate" with.

Explorer's wings came in a variety of spice levels, the most spiciest being the Plutonium Wings. Successfully eating a whole serving of plutonium wings would get you your name and picture on the wall. Vomiting after eating them was very common.

The business was forced out of business after too many under-age drinking busts cost them their beer license in the summer of 2007. Remodelled and reopened in August as the Shadow of the Valley sports bar. This, in turn, closed at the end of the 2007 football season, after not drawing sufficient trade to stay in business. The property was still up for lease in June 2008. It reopened in the fall of 2008 as the Fiesta Mexican Grill. Previously, this location had been Charlie T's Wings & Suds.
