The Stage Door Movie Store was a video rental business located in Lakeview Plaza Mall from the mid-late 1980s that lasted over a decade. An advert in The Tiger on January 30, 1987, was offering half-price memberships to students, and offered free delivery with membership. "Get 3 movies and a VCR for only $10." According to a display advert in the Southern Bell yellow pages, October 1987, this was one of four locations, also known as Jerry's Video, owned by Jerry Turner. "Over 15,000 movies to choose from" at the Lakeview Plaza location, on Highway 93, (1035 W. Main Street), Central (803-639-4004), on Main Street in Six Mile (803-868-2718), and in Pendleton on the square (803-646-8210). By March 1990, another outlet had opened at 518 College Avenue, and the Pendleton store had moved to Six Flags Plaza, but the Six Mile location was no longer listed in the yellow pages. These three locations were still listed in the March 1996 phone directory, but had disappeared by February 2003.
